Downtown Zeeland
This is one you will not want to miss. Zeeland’s three-day Pumpkinfest is back with a Wild West theme, Kidzfest inflatables, a pet costume contest, The Great BYOP Pumpkin Roll, a pumpkin pie eating contest, a kids’ tractor pull, and a parade on Saturday at 3pm. There are chances for both adults and little kids to stay entertained, so be sure to show up. Some events are free, and Kidzfest is free. For the full schedule, visit the website here.

Downtown Holland
This is the weekend downtown turns into all things fall. Watch the nation’s best professional pumpkin carvers work on giant pumpkins in GDK Park, shop the makers market at the Civic Center, plant tulips at Window on the Waterfront, and take the kiddos to pumpkin painting and fall games at the Farmers Market on Saturday. Windmill Island Gardens hosts hayrides and a Touch-a-Truck from 9:30am–1pm Saturday ($1 hayrides ages 3+, plus the island entry fee). Friday night, the Fire Truck Parade rolls down 8th Street at 7pm, then an open house at the Civic Center lot until 9pm. Check the schedule here.

Harvey Street, Hudsonville
Todd Wenzel Chevrolet sponsors this stretch of Harvey Street packed with cider, donuts, hayrides, pumpkin painting, candy drops, and more. It is geared toward the little ones, and it is free to wander. Public restrooms are at Terra Square. Take a look at the event here.

Post Family Farm, Hudsonville
If you’re ready for jeans, plaid, and a pumpkin donut, this is the place. Post Family Farm keeps the fall festival going through November 7, with u-pick pumpkins, wagon rides, a corn maze, farm animals, and giant play areas. Bethke Farms, Grand Haven
A short drive toward Grand Haven, Bethke Farms is the pick-your-own pumpkin patch with hayrides, a corn maze, and a pirate-ship play area. No admission fee. Pumpkins are 50 cents a pound; hayrides and the maze are $5 per person (free under age 3). Pets on a leash are welcome, except on the hayride. Details here.

Outdoor Discovery Center, Holland
Take a walk through the decorated trails at the Outdoor Discovery Center. There will be candy stops, wildlife encounters, marshmallow roasting, games, and live birds of prey. Kids are encouraged to wear costumes. The full loop is about 1.2 miles and is accessible for wheelchairs, strollers, and wagons. Admission is $20 per family (last admission at 6pm). Second Church, Allendale
Hosted by Second Church in Allendale, the annual Pumpkin Walk lights a trail of carved pumpkins. You can even carve one to have featured (carving nights are October 20 and 21, 6–8pm). Welcome to all ages. For updates, visit their page here.

Downtown Holland
Children are invited to wear costumes and trick-or-treat with more than 50 downtown businesses. It is rain or shine, 10am–12pm or while supplies last. Sponsored by Adient. Event details here.

Bring the little ghouls and goblins to Washington Avenue for Grand Haven’s Fall Fest. Trick-or-treating at participating businesses runs 10:30am–12pm, with seasonal shopping and community activities around downtown and Centertown. Free. More here.
