It’s back! This free event features artwork by local artists on display… and everything you see is for sale. All artwork will be evaluated and awarded prizes by a judge, and viewers are encouraged to attend and vote for the People’s Choice. So, if you miss those Windmill Island Garden views, or just need a reason to take a stroll through the beautiful scenery, this might be worth your while. Locations Vary Between Zeeland and Holland
While most of us choose to relax on Labor Day, there are some festivities to take a moment to celebrate all of your hard work. The Labor Day Truck Parade, which takes place throughout Holland and Zeeland, is the perfect opportunity for that. The parade will begin at approximately 9:45 am near MillerKnoll in Zeeland and will arrive/end at the Holland Civic Center Place in Holland. There will be face painters, balloon artists, music, and guest speakers to follow. And, even better, there will be free Hudsonville Ice Cream for visitors. Take a step back in time at the Vintage Car Show at the Holland Civic Center. This event is free, put on by the Vintage Car Club of Holland. It will feature various vintage cars, from sports to classics. So, if you're someone who loves to mingle with other folks, and are perhaps a car enthusiast, this event is right for you. Downtown Zeeland
Take a stroll through Downtown Zeeland to view the showcase of 70-100 regional vendors who specialize in vintage furniture, antiques, architectural salvage, handmade goods, autumn-themed items such as mums and pumpkins, and other farm-to-table treats. There will be an accompanied group of live artists, local food trucks, and the “Little Peddler’s Market,” which will feature young local entrepreneurs. Post Family Farm, Allendale
If you’re excited to throw on a good pair of jeans and a plaid jacket, Post Family Farms is the place to wear it. The opening day is quickly approaching… so be sure to plan your family’s trip to experience all the “fall things.” They offer award-winning apple cider and homemade pumpkin donuts at the location. Be sure to check out the corn maze, pumpkin train rides, friendly farm animals, giant, outdoor play areas with slides and straw piles, and more. This sponsored event offers the chance to celebrate the Allendale Community. The all-day event kicks off with the Leprino M45 Run, followed by the M45 Market and Vendor Fair, a car show, family-oriented music, food fest, carnival rides and a kid zone, more live music, beer and cider tents, and a drone show to commemorate the evening. Van Raalte Farm Park, Holland
There’s no better way to keep the patriotic spirit of America 250 going than a historic reenactment of one of our nation’s most notable events—the Civil War. This year, “The Civil War Muster and Heritage Days” is celebrated alongside the America 250 Mobile Museum and other special guests. This event spans across three days, with a reenactment at the center, and other performances such as medical scenarios, period-style vendors, and impressions of historical figures. Hudsonville Fairgrounds
This two-day event features 180+ vendors that offer vintage, handmade, and fall-themed goods from across the country.
