The bureaucratic inertia in this country has gone on for decades and disappointment seems to be on the menu after a party’s winning candidate takes office. With the changing of a President, and local elections making their transitions to new leadership, can we honestly say we have seen the monumental change that we have been promised election after election? Congress members and governors have come and gone, always with the intention of making a change but leaving the American people saddened, demoralized, overtaxed and devoured.
In Comes DOGE
Why then, a push back when a shift seems to be sweeping through our nation with the promise to go against the very beast that has been oppression Americans for ages. DOGE (Department Of Government Efficiency) may just be the gear shift we’ve been so patiently waiting for. With billions of waste and abuse of tax dollars being exposed, this is just the tip of the spear as the goal to take drastic actions to cut spending is across the board. DOGE has yet to audit multiple agencies with the much anticipated IRS audit looming around the corner.
What is DOGE?
In the occurrence of the signing of executive orders, on Trumps first day in office he renamed the U.S Digital Service (created by Barack Obama in 2014) to the U.S. DOGE Service. It further directed that DOGE be established within the Executive Office of the President with Elon Musk at the helm. When the creation was announced, Trump said it would “provide advice and guidance from outside of government”. Doge.gov gives a transparent and up to date reporting of current savings.
The Brilliance of DOGE
It’s hard to deny that over the years our bureaucracies have ballooned making the administrative state bigger, never smaller, increasing the need for something like DOGE to exist. For example, the Federal Department of Education has a budget of 280 billion a year. Less than 25% goes towards educating our students. Where does the rest of the money go? It goes to a beaurocracy, to a consultant, and then to an NGO and the list goes on. The brilliance of DOGE is that it’s targeting the Beaurocrats.
The red map results of the 2025 Presidential election sent a clear message to this same machine that has oppressed, weighed upon, taxed and regulated the American people for far too long. Trumps win had 77 million Americans at the ready to pull the plug on the swamp with one enthusiastic battle cry of “DOGE!”
Bold and at times, controversial, Elon Musk and his team have taken on the beast with President Trump and his voters cheering them on. Thousands of social media posts are expressing their enthusiasm by stating “This is exactly what I voted for”. Those who didn’t vote for him may be a little behind in understanding the full weight of what’s about to take place in America. With every audit, many believe America is one step closer to being great again.
