Movers for Mutts—Two Men and a Truck Collect Supplies for Local Animal Shelters

Two Men and a Truck partner with Harbor Humane Society for their annual Movers for Mutts event. Supply donations and pet adoptions are the goal this year as they look forward to seeing the community come out again to show their support for Harbor Humane Society employees and their furry friends.

Movers for Mutts is a nationwide initiative from Two Men and a Truck focused on helping pets in need by collecting essential care items. Two Men and A Truck partnered with Harbor Humane Society of Holland again this year for the annual event.

“We love working with Harbor Humane Society. They’ve been great partners for us. We look forward to this event every year and are thrilled to be helping them again this year,” said Claire Bouwens, Marketing Specialist for Two Men and A Truck.

The goal of Mover for Mutts is to provide essential pet care items to animals living in shelters until they find their forever homes.

Two Men and A Truck will collect donations via collection bins at multiple locations throughout Holland for the remainder of the month until October 22.

Two Men and A Truck is stepping in at a critical time—when over 3,500 animals are entering the Humane Society each year as strays, transfers, and owner surrenders. The Humane Society’s mission has always been to provide a safe haven for animals through gentle care, outreach, and educational efforts with the necessary help from community and local businesses.

Support from local businesses, schools, and organizations in the community is one of many ways the Humane Society is able to make this program such a success. Currently, donations that are needed are dog and cat food, treats, cleaning supplies, collars, leashes, and toys.

“Last year we collected over 300 items and 100 pounds of food. This year's goal is 500 Items and 200 pounds of food,” Bouwens said.
