Holland Township, Michigan—A cross-church celebration is set for Wednesday, May 28, as supporters of Agora Flats—a new faith-based housing initiative for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)—gather in the parking lot of Kids’ Food Basket Farm in Holland Township.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. and will feature a community time of praise and thanksgiving, marking a key milestone in the project’s journey. Organizers say the evening will celebrate the donation and transfer of land that will allow the vision for Agora Flats to move forward.
Representatives from area churches, Ridge Point Church, and Holland Township are expected to attend. Local builders EV Construction and church partners will serve ice cream and cookies, and attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and old shoes—if they want to walk the newly designated property.
This celebration is open to the public, and the community is encouraged to come out to learn more and walk the property.
Agora Flats is a planned 38-unit Christian apartment community that aims to blend market-rate housing with subsidized units for adults with IDD. The model invites mission-minded residents to live alongside those with disabilities, creating what developers describe as a “self-sustaining, Christ-centered community.”
Holland Township officially approved the 7.05-acre project on May 3. Agora Flats will be privately funded and does not seek government support.

While construction has not yet begun, site selection and design are complete, and excitement around the project is growing. Church leaders and community members say the gathering on May 28 is both a moment of gratitude and a call to future involvement.
“We’re here to praise God and thank Him for what’s ahead,”
“This land is a gift—and a responsibility."
